Stop The Bleed - Ottawa

This is a 2 hour in-person training class, offered by experienced instructors certified to teach the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Stop The Bleed program.

The course has a theory and practical portion. During the practical portion, participants will learn how to:

• Select and stage medical supplies for rapid employment
• Employ the Stop The Bleed ABC framework
• Use protective gloves
• Locate and identify a severe bleed
• Apply direct pressure with hands
• Pack a wound using gauze
• Apply a commercial tourniquet to a limb (self application included)

The skills portion of the course will be carried out using wound training simulators, to provide participants with a realistic medium to employ their skills.

Gloves and training gauze provided. A new SOFTT-W or CAT tourniquet is INCLUDED in the course fee. Additional supplies available for purchase at 911 Supply.
